Montessori Centre
Dr. Maria Montessori looked at education from a scientific perspective. She designed materials and techniques that would promote a natural growth of learning in students. Working with these materials and techniques forms a pattern that children carry over naturally to reading, writing, and mathematics. It is an approach that values the human spirit and the development of the whole child—physical, social, emotional and cognitive.
Each child is valued as a unique individual. Montessori education recognizes that children learn in different ways and accommodates all learning styles. Beginning at an early age, Montessori pedagogy develops order, coordination, concentration, and independence in early learners. Classroom design, materials, and daily routines support the individual’s emerging “self-regulation” (ability to educate oneself, and to think about what one is learning).
Montessori students enjoy freedom within limits. Working within the parameters they are free to use the materials from the Practical life Exercises (Development of gross and fine motor skills), Sensorial (Visual, Tactile, Olfactory, Gustatory, Auditory), Math , Language (Enhance natural tendencies) and Culture (Life forms on the planet).
Self-correction and self-assessment are an integral part of the Montessori classroom approach. A child’s curiosity grows by what it is fed on; At KRMGS our task is to keep it well supplied with knowledge.
