The teachers underwent rigorous evaluation where they submitted lesson plans which were reviewed and shortlisted by well renowned jury. The shortlisted candidates had a one on one interview with the jury members where the teachers shared their teaching pedagogy and innovative approaches.

“I believe that each child has a unique learning style, and that giving children agency will help them become global citizens. Since during the pandemic times the physical activity of students had been much limited. So, I had to plan my lessons in a much innovative and most interesting way possible. I saw students were learning and taking interest in the animal kingdom which the homeroom teacher was teaching and that’s when I thought of integrating animal yoga poses with it. In my lesson plan I use visible thinking routines to check student’s prior knowledge and while assessing them I gave them the choice on how they want to be assessed. Like if they want to post their own snapshot, make a poster or draw a pose that you liked the most and that’s how I used the learner agency which is Choice, Voice and Ownership” Sanya Sinha PSPE – PYP
“Teaching in a virtual environment was a fascinating experience that made me reconsider how I connected to my students. In my lesson plan I have tried to add the activities which involve movement and hands on activities to make it more fun, interactive, and interesting for the young minds, so that children are just not sitting and listening, they will be engaged in the activities, whether it was using of online games or tools for assessment or story with puppets and voice modulation or dance and rhymes .I always try that, my plan gets students thinking and ask questions, tap into their background knowledge and build new skills.
I believe “Happy teachers make happy students” and success is more than just academic performance, it’s about our happiness and positive impact on others. I always try to make my class a happy place to be, where students are not only performing but also learning life skills.

“I used interactive digital tools which provided opportunity to make metacognition visible. Students collaborated and engaged with each other. The lesson plan catered to auditory, visual as well as kinaesthetic learners and was personalised as per each student‘s needs. The lesson reflected the complete inquiry cycle where the students investigated and made conclusions and took action on local level. Cross-curricular connections were established – Science integrated with literacy and technology. The learning engagements provided students an opportunity to make real life connections, enhanced their critical thinking and problem solving skills.”
